Start Planning Your Vacation

  • Determine Your BudgetBefore deciding where to go on vacation, the first thing that must be determined is about how much money you will have available to spend. This amount should take into account traveling costs, accommodations, food, activities, and transportation. It is also a good ideal to take into account necessary money for tips, souvenirs, and emergency funds, just in case.

  • Arranging Your Time Off – Before making plans to travel, reserve accommodations or anything else that may require a deposit, make sure you have cleared your vacation schedule with your boss, family, and any one else concerned. This will save you from losing money on non-refundable fees.

  • Decide On A Location – If you are not the only one that is responsible for planning your vacation, contact everyone involved and set a time to discuss ideals about where you all want to go. Have everyone take into consideration the budget, proposed time frame, and any other variable that may affect the trip’s schedule.

  • Decide On Transportation – When deciding on how to travel, think about anything that may get you a discount on plane, train, or bus fares. The Greyhound Bus, as well as most airlines, typically offer lower fares for kids, seniors, frequent flyers, veterans, and more. You may also get a lower plane fare by departing at an unpopular time of day.

  • Obtain Visitor InformationOnce you have figured out where you want to go, and what the duration of your stay will be, you should contact the Chamber of Commerce of the city you will be visiting. They will provide you with a wealth of information, including how to contact their Visitor’s Information Bureau. You can receive information online if you prefer, or via U.S. mail.

“Las Vegas Nevada

A Lot More FUN Than Just

Slot Machines!”

Are you one of those uninformed people who think there’s nothing to do in Las Vegas other than gambling? Well hold onto your dice and let go of that slot machine, you’re about to be WOWED! There are tons of things to do in Vegas, and it’s not just an adult’s town any more! (At the end of this article there are a few FUN things in Las Vegas for the children, or even the BIG KID in you! Make sure to check them out.). Be sure to have in mind “what kind of time” you want to have in Vegas on your future trip. There’s so many things to do in Las Vegas, both in and out of the casinos. You may find yourself bouncing from one extreme to another if you’re not careful! That may actually appeal to some Vegas tourists, but most travelers need a little more predictability in their vacation and trip plans. Personally, I like a little extreme AND a little predictability. I guess that’s how I ended up moving to Las Vegas, then turning around two years later and moving back to Los Angeles. In both cases the move was extreme, yet predictable. Now that I’m back in Los Angeles, I miss the many exciting activities that were literally right outside my front door!: (READ)

Start Planning Your Vacation

  • Make Lodging Arrangements – When making lodging arrangements, pay attention to whether rates are based on double occupancy. Always indicate any preferences, like smoking or non-smoking, particular floor requests, wi-fi connection, etc. Find out which of the requests will cost extra and how much extra, so you won’t be surprised when you get the bill.

  • Make Travel ArrangementsSince you have already chose your method of travel, when it comes time to actually make the arrangements, pay close attention to the following: Any and all special requirements that relate to security issues (what is and is not acceptable to travel with), luggage and weight requirements, arrival and boarding times, parking and passenger drop offs, disabled accommodations, etc.

  • Create Your AgendaOnce you receive the requested information from the Chamber of Commerce and The Visitor’s Bureau, go over it with your fellow travelers, and decide what things you want to do. Write them down and list them in the order of importance, that way, if you run out of money or time, you will have at least, done the things you wanted to do most. Your agenda is not wrote in stone and can be modified later, if you choose.

  • Make Your TO GO Checklist – You will need to make a checklist of things you need to do before leaving. This should include things like securing your travel money (checks or credit cards), packing necessary documents and essentials (identification, passport medical card, blow dryer, travel iron etc), Picking up tickets, other travelers, and anything else relevant to the trip.

TRIPLE ACES: Where To Rock The House In Vegas!

Las Vegas Venues - Three of A Kind Wins!

What do The Pearl, The Joint, and The House of Blues all have in common? Vegas Baby! These heavy hitters are three of Las Vegas Nevada’s top venues for entertainment of all kinds. They are definitely three of a kind when it comes to star studded concerts and performances! Aces back to back, and every Vegas player knows that spells a winning hand!

The House of Blues

(HOB) is located inside the exquisite Mandalay Bay, the resort that invites you to “Feel the Glow”. When it comes to live entertainment in Las Vegas, don’t be fooled by the House of Blues’ name. The artists that perform there range from rock, rap, reggae, jazz and rockabilly, and that’s when the house isn’t hopping with some good ole’ down home blues! The HOB has been privileged to have a versatile lineup of artists like: Robin Thicke & Maroon, Common, and Aaron Lewis, to name just a few.

There’s something going on everyday of the week at the HOB. Part of their weekly lineup consists of Sunday night’s Purple Reign – The Prince Tribute Show, where the locals get in free. In addition to Flashback Fridays, and the Boogie Knights, Saturday dance party, HOB lets you “party like a rockstar” with Rockstar Karaoke, on Monday nights starting at 10:00 pm. Get ready to “Sing - Karaoke style - on the HOB Courtyard Stage backed with a live rock band.” Admission for this event is FREE, and both locals and visitors, alike, are encouraged to come out.

House of Blues is available for parties, groups, and dinner reservations. All events, shows, and activities subject to change following this publication date. For official dates and times, and can be contacted by calling: 702.632.7600 or visit online at: Las Vegas House of Blues

The Joint

The Joint is located inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino where the 8000 feet facility keeps audiences in awe. It can accommodate either a seated event, or typical rock style standing room only. Add to that picture, 25 feet tall speakers that flank the stage to give every listener in the house an exhilarating, mind-blowing experience!

While the Hard Rock can boast of heavy hitters like: rapper Snoop Dogg, Grammy Award wining Sinead O’Connor, and indie rock band Modest Mouse having graced their stage, the fun and entertainment doesn’t just stop at music at The Joint. This spectacular arena even hosted the WFC Extreme Cage Fighting event. This is one venue that truly offers audiences a diverse selection of both audio and visual entertainment. Like everyplace else in Vegas, something’s always going on at The Joint. For a great night out at a venue that boasts of catering to the “rock elite”, stop and check out the Joint. You can get a complete line up of their upcoming performance schedule by visiting Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

The Pearl

The Pearl, located at the Palms Casino Resort is the newest edition of the winning trio, but it in no way shrinks in comparison. Like the other two venues, The Pearl was designed to accommodate a wide range of entertainment events. The MTV Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, the Smashing Pumpkins, and UFC Fight Night, featuring Florian versus Thomas, have all proven to be the type of quality lineup that is The Pearl has become known for. With the exception of The Joint and the House of Blues, few venues come close to The Pearl’s caliber of entertainment. Palm’s Pearl Hotel & Casino
